That's a good idea but firstly I really need to spend some time on the documentation that's woefully out of date. It's on the list but don't hold your breath!

I had reports of the scanner running on a Rpi but it does run slowly and often runs out of memory. It's probably worth looking around for another single board computer that runs one of the popular Linux distros and has a Gig or more of RAM and at least a couple of CPU cores. Bear in mind that installing the scanner in Windows is far easier.
